Viking VSF303 Multi-Spectrum IR Flame Detector

The Viking VSF303 is an explosion-proof multi-spectrum IR flame detector. The device delivers superior performance, responding to hydrocarbon liquid fuel and gas fires at long distances. The VSF303 has been tested by Factory Mutual (FM) to detect a hydrocarbon fuel pan fire at 60 m (~ 200 feet) within 5 seconds.

Features

• Comprehensive design and support services provided by Viking Integrated Safety
• Multi-spectrum IR design delivers long detection distances and enhanced false alarm immunity
• Continuous optical test, without a reflector, verifies operation and improves device up-time
• Microprocessor controlled heated-optics maintains operation in harsh weather conditions (snow, ice, condensation)
• International hazardous area approvals: FM / ATEX / IEC Ex
• Certified performance testing to multiple fuels to FM 3260 and EN 54-10
• Adjustable sensitivity levels, for application flexibility and to ensure detectors do not cross vote
• External testing with a long-range flame simulator minimizes the need for scaffolding
• Easy integration using industry-standard outputs: Alarm and Fault Relays; 0-20mA; HART as standard
• Certified SIL 2 capable

• The VSF303 has a 90° cone of vision with a range of 200 ft (60 m) to a 1 ft2 (0.1 m2 ) pan fire of n-heptane.

• Three detection sensitivity settings allowing the user to select the sensitivity that is most suitable for their application.

• Superior false alarm immunity to common sources of unwanted alarms such as hot process and hot work.

• Advanced optical verification test assuring readiness to perform when needed.

• Outputs include both relay contacts and 0-20mA.

• Separate termination chamber for ease of installation.

• Certified Flame Simulator VSF3008 ITEST verifies operation from distances of 10 to 26 ft (3 to 8 m).

• VSF303 can operate via a standard 3 or 4 wire termination.

• Microprocessor controlled heated optics increases resistance to moisture and ice.
